Educating in the Age of AI: Balancing InnovationEthicsand Human Values Ruşen Meylani

In Educating in the Age of AI: Balancing Innovation, Ethics, and Human Values, Dr. Ruşen Meylani offers a comprehensive and deeply reflective exploration of how artificial intelligence is transforming the landscape of education. Drawing upon decades of educational research and classroom experience, this work examines AI not merely as a technological tool but as a catalyst for reimagining teaching, learning, and human development. From foundational theories to emerging applications such as adaptive learning, intelligent tutoring, and generative AI, the book traces how innovation must coexist with ethical responsibility, transparency, and respect for human agency. It calls for an education system where algorithms serve not replace teachers, and where technology amplifies curiosity, inclusivity, and the timeless mission of learning.
Written with scholarly depth and moral clarity, this volume provides educators, policymakers, and researchers with an indispensable framework for navigating the promises and pitfalls of AI integration. Each chapter balances enthusiasm for innovation with caution against its unintended consequences, exploring issues of bias, data ethics, accessibility, and the preservation of human values. Ultimately, the author contends that the future of education will not be determined by how advanced our technologies become, but by how deliberately and compassionately we choose to use them in the service of humanity.
