For too long the press of the Western world has reinforced a negative narrative of Russia, it's people and the politics surrounding the state and the region. This book is not an attempt to provide points of views which argue the state as a flawless one, nor will it side itself with one actor over the other within an often feverish, cold and hostile political climate. Rather, it will reflect on my time travelling, studying and writing about Russia and it's people, expressing my infatuation and applying my own political knowledge to political events between the years of 2015 and 2018.
